Overview

James Harrington is the senior partner in the firm’s New York office. He has extensive experience in all aspects of intellectual property practice, including both prosecution and litigation. Mr. Harrington is also highly experienced in managing the firm’s university and research-based clients. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, he spent five years as a trial attorney. Mr. Harrington has lectured and participated in panel discussions on various topics of patent law relating to biotechnology. Mr. Harrington has also served as an Adjunct Professor for the Entrepreneurship & Intellectual Property Practicum, a clinic offered at Hofstra University School of Law. Fields of technology include biology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and chemistry.

Patent and trademark prosecution and litigation; post-grant proceedings including Inter Partes Review (IPR) and Post Grant Review (PGR); opinions, including freedom-to-operate, patentability, validity, and infringement; due diligence investigations; licensing; and client counseling.
