Christine E. Dietzel, Ph.D. is a registered patent agent with over twenty five years of experience in patents and licensing of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Previously, she was with Klauber & Jackson, LLC for over 20 years handling patent preparation and prosecution on behalf of universities, start-ups, and small and large biopharmaceutical companies. She was Director of Industrial Liaison for New York University, NYU Medical Center and their affiliates from 1993-1997, and from 1991-1993 was Assistant Director for Patents and Licenses at the New York Blood Center, involved in worldwide licensing efforts. She received her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Columbia University and, after completing her Ph.D. in 1988, she worked as a research scientist at Lifecodes Corporation, directing a research laboratory developing antisense and DNA-based fingerprinting technology.
In addition to experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications worldwide, she is well versed in various aspects of intellectual property management, technology assessment and licensing, including management of large patent portfolios, evaluation and strategic development of IP, licensing terms and IP agreements, technology marketing and start-ups. Particular experience and expertise include monoclonal antibodies, stem cells, antibacterial agents and technologies, antiviral agents and technologies, anti-infectives, antisense/antagomirs, microRNAs, kinase inhibitors, GPCRs and orphan receptors, neurological diseases and modulators, novel targets, vaccines, plant molecular biology, and yeast expression systems.
